Sweet
Solìo
By Isolabella della Croce, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Freshness and balance meet a striking aromatic elegance of citrus, sage and yellow flowers, the result of the slope of the land and the age of Loazzolo's old Moscato vines.
Tasting notes
Intense straw yellow with marked golden reflections. Candied fruit, apricot in spirit, quince and wilted yellow flowers on the nose, with a waxy note from the drying process and the wine's glyceric structure. The balance between soft and acid components gives it long ageing potential, and the palate echoes the same tropical and candied fruit notes.
Pairs well with
Interesting with lightly veined cheeses or with aged salami. The traditional pairing is dry pastry, though the wine also rewards tasting on its own.
