Delicate scents of aromatic herbs blend with classic, complex notes of leather and liquorice; structure and character are considered typical of Monforte's Barolo.

- Guyot training, about 4,200 vines per hectare. Average vine age about 30 years. Total area about 2 hectares.
- Vinification
- Fermentation and maceration: 22-30 days in stainless steel at 28-30C. Ageing: 3 years in 20-40 hectolitre Slavonian and French oak casks, 2 months in stainless steel and at least 6 months in bottle. Bottled at the start of the 4th year after harvest.
- Storage
- Ageing potential 15-35 years
