Francesco Sobrero Pernanno

Barolo DOCG Riserva from the Pernanno cru in Castiglione Falletto, first made in 1993 (as riserva from 1998) from a single hectare of vines planted in 1946.

Tasting notes

Bright, luminous ruby. Aromas led by wild notes, hints of leather, bouquet garni, cocoa, face powder, opening onto warmer, more evolved notes of dried mushroom, humus, dog rose. Broad, rich, structured palate with firm tannic backbone, real depth and persistence, a wide expression of fruit, marked earthiness, and returning notes of cocoa and leather, with a lively final acidity giving length and persistence.

Pairs well with

Beef braised in Barolo, red meat and game, aged cheese.
