Red
Le Schiene
By Diego Morra, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
A single-vineyard Barbera Superiore from a selected ridge plot in Roddi, aged 8 to 10 months in French oak.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby red colour; the nose gives ample space to fully ripe red fruits, with tannin balanced by a pleasing acidity.
Pairs well with
Dishes with a good fat component, intensely flavoured pasta, meat, and medium to long-aged cheeses.

- Production area
- Village of Roddi, on the ridge of the vineyard, about 2 hectares.

- Vinification
- After soft destemming, fermentation and tumultuous maceration run 10 to 12 days at a controlled temperature of up to 30°C, with short, frequent pump-overs, and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. The wine ages 8 to 10 months in French oak, part in tonneaux and part in barrels, then rests at least 3 to 4 months in bottle, releasing around the middle of the second year after harvest. It comes from a selection of grapes from specific portions of the vineyard chosen for soil, vine age and exposure.
