Cascina Fonda Bertola

Barbaresco DOCG from the Bertola vineyard, 100% Nebbiolo grown in Neive on west-facing, marly limestone slopes, aged 18 months in oak and 12 months in bottle.

Tasting notes

Bright, intense ruby red with slightly orange reflections. Clear, full nose of violet, cinnamon, cherry and leather. Full, harmonious, warm palate with a persistent, pleasant aftertaste.

Pairs well with

Main courses of both white meat and game in general.

Average vine age about 25 years.
Vinification
Red vinification with cap emersion and daily pumping over, fermentation at a controlled temperature of 27C, maceration for 10 days, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in sequence. Aged 18 months in oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle. Also available in magnum.
