Red
Monferrato Dolcetto
By Cascina Barisél, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
A simple, traditional Dolcetto of the kind local farmers made for their own table, the only wine the producer's father bottled. Meant to be drunk fresh.
Tasting notes
Brilliant ruby red. Exuberant vinous notes of red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry and redcurrant on the nose. Firm on the palate, medium-bodied, with well-integrated tannin and a savoury, persistent finish.
Pairs well with
Tagliatelle with ragù and agnolotti, bread and salame, fatty cheeses, cotechino, savoury tarts.
