Gavi
By Cantina San Matteo, Gavi, Piemonte, Italy
The estate's straight Gavi DOCG, 100% Cortese from four Gavi-zone communes, at 12% ABV.
Tasting notes
Still, pale straw yellow with delicate floral and fruity notes of linden and peach. Subtle and elegant on the palate, crisp and zesty, with a balanced, lingering finish.
Pairs well with
Aperitifs and brunch; first and second courses of fish and vegetables, poultry or pork, delicate cured meats (lardo, sweet ham, cooked salami), fresh or semi-ripe soft and stretched-curd cheeses. Recco-style focaccia.
