Cascina Gilli

Cascina Gilli was founded in 1983 by Gianni Vergnano in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, in the Monferrato Astigiano area of the Asti province, about 30 km from Turin and Asti. The estate farms 11 hectares of its own vines across three sites, Bricco Gilli, Cornareto and Schierano, focused on indigenous varieties: Freisa, Malvasia di Schierano, Bonarda, Barbera and Nebbiolo. After 40 years, leadership passed from Gianni to his son Paolo Vergnano, now joined by new partners Davide Gasperini and Federico Mussetto, based at a historic 18th century farmhouse (cascina del '700). The estate obtained SQNPI sustainable production certification in 2021 and is a member of FIVI, the Italian federation of independent winegrowers.
