Cà Neuva

Cà Neuva

Cà Neuva is a small, family-run estate in the Borgata Santa Lucia, a hamlet on the edge of Dogliani in the heart of the Langhe, about 20 minutes from Alba, Mondovì, Cherasco and Bra. The legal name is Azienda Agricola Cà Neuva di Abbona Sergio, and bottles are signed by Celso Abbona. In 2024 the family marked the estate's 90th year with a new wine, Excelso, a Langhe red blending Barbera, Nebbiolo and a little Cabernet to a recipe they keep to themselves, dedicated to Sergio's grandfather Celso. Grapes are picked by hand into crates and the range runs to seven wines: Barolo, two styles of Dogliani, Langhe Nebbiolo, Piemonte Barbera, Roero Arneis and the Tre Matote metodo classico spumante. Dogliani gives its name to Dolcetto's own DOCG, one of only two zones in Piedmont where the grape stands entirely on its own.
