Fausoni
By Sottimano, Barbaresco, Piemonte, Italy
Barbaresco DOCG from the Fausoni cru in Neive, on calcareous soils the estate says lend the wine expressive intensity without losing elegance.
Tasting notes
Delicate aromas of forest fruit stand out on the nose, with balsamic and mint notes also found on the palate, wrapped in thick tannins. The finish is typically tasty and young.

- After a careful selection of the grapes, alcoholic fermentation happens spontaneously. Long maceration on the skins and a period of submerged cap are followed by racking into wood, where malolactic fermentation completes. The wine then rests in bottle for about a year before release.
