Red
Margheria
By Luigi Pira, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Margheria is a gently south-facing, 1.5-hectare cru in Serralunga d'Alba on limestone-clay soil at 340 metres, planted in 1959, giving about 7,000 bottles of a classic, elegant Barolo that is approachable earlier than the estate's other crus.
Tasting notes
Garnet red; an intense, complex nose of fruit and flowers with nuances of leather and fresh hay; deep and elegant on the palate, with pleasant tannins typical of Nebbiolo.
