Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba
By Luigi Pira, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
The estate's classic Barolo, blended from three vineyards across the Serralunga commune totalling 3 hectares at 320 metres, planted between 1959 and 1995, giving about 16,000 bottles built for earlier readiness and elegance from large-barrel ageing.
Tasting notes
Garnet colour with orange hues; a very complex nose with hints of leather, hay, earth and spices; well balanced on the palate between acidity and tannin, giving softness and persistence.
