Franco Mondo's Barbera d'Asti Superiore, from a single vineyard planted in 1984, macerated on the skins and aged about 8 months in French oak plus 6 in bottle.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with violet highlights, a winy, fruity, warm bouquet with undergrowth nuances. Complex, harmonious, intense and persistent on the palate, with good structure.
Pairs well with
First courses with meat sauces, meat main courses and aged cheeses.

Hand-harvested 120-130 days after flowering; after alcoholic fermentation the skins macerate in the wine for 10-15 days, then, after malolactic fermentation, the wine ages about 8 months in French oak and a further minimum 6 months in bottle before release.
