Sparkling
Alta Langa
By Franco Mondo, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy
A metodo classico sparkling wine from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grown in the Langa astigiana up to 450 metres, aged at least 36 months on the lees.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow with golden highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. Aromas of bread crust and a flinty minerality, ripe yellow fruit and a floral hint of wisteria, with light toasted hazelnut notes. Crisp and saline on the palate, structured and fresh, with barely perceptible acidity.
Pairs well with
Raw fish, shellfish and intensely flavoured vegetables; also good with second courses of raw meat, cheeses and truffle dishes.
