Montruc

By Franco M. Martinetti, Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy

Franco M. Martinetti Montruc

In Piemontese dialect Montruc means poggiolo, the top of a hill; in French it can also read as 'my thing', Franco M. Martinetti's own homage to Barbera, the grape he grew up on. It ranks among the great Barbera wines of Piemonte and has won numerous awards.

Tasting notes

Intense garnet colour with violet hues; ageing in barrique smooths and balances the primary aromas, and the bouquet opens out broadly, like an organ adagio.

Pairs well with

The palate confirms the intense impressions of colour and aroma: an ideal match for roasted red meats, feathered game and mature cheeses.
