Marasco

Franco M. Martinetti Marasco

Marasco is a Barolo from Serralunga d'Alba, its name playing on the sour-cherry (marasca) note in the wine's long finish.

Tasting notes

Warm on the palate, opulent and sensual, with sour cherry in a long, alluring finish. Delicate yet intense purple shading into bordeaux, still youthful in colour. On the nose, rose and violet play hide and seek, hinting at fragrances still folded into a promising adolescence.

Pairs well with

Beyond the traditional pairings, Marasco shines with aged sheep's milk cheeses (or mixed sheep and goat), the kind left in the cellar until wrinkled and just softened at the edges.
