Red
Apertura
By Colombo - Cascina Pastori, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Apertura is Colombo's Piemonte DOC Pinot Nero, aged in large oak casks before an extended spell in bottle.
Tasting notes
Bright ruby red, turning to subtle garnet with age. Ripe red berries such as redcurrant and woodland strawberry open the nose, with dog rose, violet, clove and liquorice. The palate is warm and harmonious, with juicy sour cherry, lively redcurrant acidity and elegant tannins from ageing in large barrels, plus mineral, menthol and saline notes reflecting the terroir.
