Red
Margherita
By Cascina Montagnola, Colli Tortonesi, Piemonte, Italy
A blend of non-native grape varieties long grown in the estate's vineyards, traditionally vinified alongside indigenous varieties such as Barbera, aged over two years between oak and bottle.
Tasting notes
Extremely intense, opaque ruby red right to the rim of the glass, with eggplant-skin nuances. Very fine and intense on the nose, with lovely notes of sweet liquorice, aromatic herbs and dark fruit wrapped in an elegant hint of graphite. Full, long and structured on the palate, lightly tannic in youth, softening with bottle age.
Pairs well with
Red meats, poultry, filled pasta, mushrooms and cheeses of strong character.
