Villa Horta
By Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
Made from Vespolina, a native Novarese grape whose oldest documented presence in Ghemme dates to 1400, vinified in purezza (as a single varietal); first vintage 1989. The name recalls the ancient village of Orta, where canons of the Isola di San Giulio vinified grapes from their Ghemme vineyards from the 13th century.
Tasting notes
A fine ruby-red colour, with pleasant floral aromas including cyclamen. On the palate, a delicate flavour of good softness and fullness, round, harmonious and long.
Pairs well with
For light breakfasts, first courses and white-meat dishes. Excellent with creative cuisine.
