Cantalupo
By Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
Ghemme was the first wine produced when Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo began operating in 1974, and is the full territorial expression of Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo. From the 2006 vintage it has also carried the Cantalupo name, taken from the estate's own vineyards.
Tasting notes
Ruby-garnet red, with aromas ranging over an austere resin base from violet to withered rose, finishing with liquorice. Dry and rightly tannic, warm-bodied, leading to an enjoyable drink.
Pairs well with
Enhances roasts, braised meats and game. Serve in large glasses.
