Stefanino Morra
Stefanino Morra is a family winery in Castellinaldo, in the Roero hills. The family has worked this land since the 1920s, when patriarch Stefano combined vine growing with fruit orchards and livestock. His grandson Stefanino began estate bottling in the 1980s, labelled the first Arneis in 1990 and moved production to a new cellar the following year, later joined by his wife Edda and brother-in-law Gianni Olivero. A tasting room opened in 2006, and children Luca and Erica now represent a fourth generation at the estate. The range centres on Roero's three key grapes, Nebbiolo, Arneis and Barbera, alongside Favorita, a rare native white variety, plus a cru Roero Riserva, a metodo classico Arneis and two dessert wines. Castellinaldo sits among sandy, gently rolling hills on the left bank of the Tanaro, in an area especially linked to the Arneis grape.

Wines from Stefanino Morra
- Barbera d'Alba: Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera 100%, Red. Barbera is Piemonte's most widely planted grape, and around Alba it has long been made into an everyday wine with bright acidity, suited to a full meal or easy drinking with friends. Morra's classic Barbera d'Alba is…
- Castellinaldo: Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera, Red. Since the mid-1990s Morra has set aside its oldest vineyard for this richer style of Barbera d'Alba, fermented with submerged cap and aged in small oak, a wine built for age rather than immediate drinking. The name…
- Dolcetto d'Alba: Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Dolcetto, Red. Morra's Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, fermented in stainless steel with a short maturation before bottling.
- Elena: Roero Arneis DOCG, Arneis 100%, Sparkling. Elena is Morra's metodo classico sparkling wine made from 100% Arneis, aged at least 24 months on the lees with traditional hand riddling and disgorgement.
- Erica: Vino Rosso, Red grapes, Sweet. Erica is Morra's sweet red dessert wine, a partially fermented grape must, low in alcohol (6% vol) and meant to be enjoyed young, a festive last glass to close a meal.
- Langhe Favorita: Langhe DOC Favorita, Favorita 100%, White. Morra's Langhe Favorita DOC is made from Favorita, a rare native white grape the estate has grown since early on, fermented cool for a fresh, easy-drinking white.
- Langhe Nebbiolo: Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Nebbiolo 100%, Red. A 100% Nebbiolo Langhe DOC from Morra, made with a soft destemming and brief maceration in stainless steel for an approachable style of the variety.
- Luca: Vendemmia Tardiva, White grapes, Sweet. Luca is Morra's late-harvest dessert wine from white grapes left on the vine into late November, long aged in barriques for an intense, amber-hued wine for meditation or to close a meal with fruit and desserts.
- Nebiosè: Vino Rosato, Blend of red grapes, Rosé. Nebiosè is Morra's rosé, a blend of red grapes picked early and briefly macerated with dry ice for a fresh, pink-hued style.
- Roero: Roero DOCG, Nebbiolo 100%, Red. Morra's Roero DOCG is a 100% Nebbiolo wine from the Roero hills, made with softer tannins and more floral, spiced aromatics than the Nebbiolo wines of Barolo and Barbaresco.
- Roero Arneis: Roero Arneis DOCG, Arneis 100%, White. Morra's Roero Arneis DOCG is made from the native white Arneis grape, long at home in the sandy soils of the Roero and prized for its freshness, minerality and easy drinkability.
- San Pietro: Roero Arneis DOCG, Arneis 100%, White. San Pietro is Morra's cru bottling of Roero Arneis, from the well-exposed San Pietro vineyard just outside Castellinaldo, aged some months in large wood for extra richness and structure.
- Sräi: Roero Riserva DOCG, Nebbiolo 100%, Red. Sräi is Morra's Roero Riserva DOCG, a single-vineyard Nebbiolo from the best-exposed, oldest vines, made only in favourable vintages after strict green harvesting and long ageing in wood for full varietal expression.
