Roberto Voerzio

Roberto Voerzio

Roberto Voerzio's cellar was founded in 1986 in La Morra, in the Langhe, and works from vineyards in La Morra and Barolo. The range is built around single-site Barolo: Brunate, Cerequio, La Serra, Rocche dell'Annunziata (with a separate Torriglione bottling), Sarmassa and a Fossati Case Nere Riserva held back ten years. Alongside come Barbera d'Alba, including a Pozzo dell'Annunziata riserva, a Dolcetto d'Alba, a Langhe Nebbiolo and a Merlot. Work in the vines is manual and low-yield: short winter pruning, two thinnings in summer, cow manure or humus after harvest, and no chemical fertilisers or weedkillers. In the cellar fermentations start on their own, nothing is filtered, and every wine except the Dolcetto goes into wood. Bottle counts are small, and several Barolo crus appear mainly in magnum. La Morra is one of the villages of the Barolo zone.
