Carlo Casetta

Carlo Casetta is a family winery in Montà, in the Roero, started in the 1960s by Carlo's grandfather. Carlo, born in 1990, is the third generation. He trained at the Scuola Enologica in Alba, graduated in Viticulture and Enology in Turin in 2013 and took a master's degree there in 2016. He took over the estate in 2011 and worked as an oenologist at another local winery from 2013 to 2021. Since 2018 his wife Martina, a former interpreter and translator turned sommelier, has looked after export, marketing and hospitality in the cellar. The wines come only from the family's own vineyards, about 5 hectares close to the cellar, planted with Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis. Treatments are kept to a minimum, the rows stay grassed and the harvest is by hand. The wines are sold under the RAIZ line.

  • Aut: Vino Spumante di Qualità Metodo Classico, Sparkling. Aut is the winery's Metodo Classico sparkling wine, a Brut blanc de noir made entirely in Piedmont grapes and aged on its lees for 24 months.
  • Bel: Roero Arneis DOCG, Arneis, White. Bel is the winery's Roero Arneis DOCG, made from Arneis and aged in stainless steel with batonnage sur lie for 3-4 months.
