Bocchino Giuseppe

Bocchino Giuseppe

Bocchino is a family farm in Santa Libera, on the edge of Canelli. The family traces its wine back to the mid-1800s, when an ancestor, Felice, was already sending barrels to America. Grandparents Aurelio and Liggia took the business in hand in the 1930s, Beppe and Maria took over in the 1970s, and their children Annalisa and Daniele now present the wines, with a third generation preparing to join. Fourteen hectares are worked by hand across three areas: Canelli for Moscato, Corneliano for Nebbiolo, Moasca for Barbera and Nizza. The family limits sulphites and uses no weedkillers. The range runs from a frizzante Favorita and a Metodo Classico to a Moscato d'Asti, a raisined Moscato, five Barbera bottlings and a Nebbiolo d'Alba. Canelli sits in the province of Asti, at the meeting point of Langhe and Monferrato, both part of the UNESCO-listed Piedmont wine landscapes.
