Villa Pattono
By Renato Ratti, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Named for the family's old country villa, where the “house wine” was made from the surrounding Barbera from the early 1900s; suited to good ageing in bottle. First vintage 1982.
Tasting notes
Intense, brilliant red. Ripe plum on a background of spice (pepper) and liquorice. Full, structured, pleasant and elegant palate of good persistence.
Pairs well with
Important first courses and red meats.
