Tasting notes
Aromas of chocolate and earthy notes, then cassis, tobacco and plum on the palate. Elegant and medium-bodied, with supple tannins and a long finish.

- Soil
- Lessona: Pliocene marine sands (Ori di Lessona) on an igneous rock subsoil mixed with glacial sediment, acidic and rich in minerals and trace elements including iron, manganese, aluminium and zinc; soil pH 4.5-5.5.
- Vineyard planting
- 100% Cabernet Franc, Bordeaux clones on 3309-C and 101-14 low-vigour rootstocks, 5,000 vines per hectare.
- Vinification
- Sorted on a conveyor belt, destemmed and gently pressed, gravity fed into open-topped wooden fermenters with natural yeasts; 30 days maceration with regular punching down. 18 months on the lees, then ageing in French oak barriques (50% new).
