Rosé
Piagè Chiaretto
By Massimo Pastura - Cascina La Ghersa, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
A rosé made only from Barbera, which the producer describes as the only Piedmontese rosé made solely from Barbera d'Asti grapes. First vintage 2006 (as Piagè Rosè).
Tasting notes
Intense pink with ruby reflections, brilliant and luminous. Pleasant, intense, fruity aroma with rose petals and raspberry to the fore. Full body, vinous flavour with fresh acidity and a fine, elegant note of sweet fruit in the finish.
Pairs well with
Ideal as an aperitif or with tasty starters, smoked fish or fried fish, white and grilled meats. Piedmontese pairings: porcini and potato salad, stewed tripe, Reblochon.
