La Tota
By Marchesi Alfieri, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
La Tota blends Barbera from vineyards of differing age, exposure, soil and clone, harvested and vinified separately, with final blending only after malolactic fermentation.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red colour with purple highlights. Intense aroma with notes of ripe plum and light vanilla from the oak. Full, dense, smooth flavour with balanced spice, oak vanilla and red fruit. Develops well for 6-8 years in the bottle.
Pairs well with
Pasta, red and white meats, medium-matured non-blue cheeses.
