Sparkling
Caterina Rivella
By Marcalberto, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
Caterina Rivella is Marcalberto's Alta Langa DOCG Riserva, a Pinot Nero and Chardonnay blend from the estate's highest vineyards, aged at least 60 months on the lees and 12 months after disgorgement, named for the family's grandmother.
Tasting notes
Bright straw yellow with golden highlights, very fine perlage with creamy mousse. Elegant and layered on the nose with ripe citrus fruit, hedgerow and green apple alongside crusty bread, hazelnut and chalk. Tense and vibrant on the palate with lively acidity and exceptional tanginess, a lean but lingering mineral finish.
