Rubis
By La Caplana, Gavi, Piemonte, Italy
A Barbera d'Asti DOCG from a single vineyard over 50 years old with very low yields, macerated about 12 days at 28°C.
Tasting notes
An extraordinarily characterful red wine, described on the site as aged one year in barrique, with a deep ruby color moving toward garnet. On the nose, notes of violet, forest berries, licorice and undergrowth, with a broad, powerful palate.
Pairs well with
Usually paired well with red meat dishes, braised meats, game, roasts and pork.
