Red
Barbera d'Asti
By La Caplana, Gavi, Piemonte, Italy
A Barbera d'Asti DOCG from two vineyards over 30 years old with very low yields, macerated about 6 days at 28°C and aged one year, first in large wood casks and then in bottle.
Tasting notes
Deep, clear ruby red, fairly full-bodied. Intense on the nose with good complexity, notes of macerated red fruit, cherry and small berries. On the palate it is structured, soft, with good finesse and elegance, pleasant and long on the finish.
Pairs well with
Usually paired well with red meat dishes, braised meats, game, roasts and pork.
