White
Langhe Favorita
By Giovanni Abrigo, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
100% Favorita, a native Piemonte white that Giorgio Abrigo began growing in 1990; fermented in pressurised tank at low temperature to keep its natural spritz, then briefly aged on the lees.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow with greenish highlights, slightly sparkling. Wild flowers, wild herbs, green apple and pear, developing tertiary bread-like notes after the first six months. Crisp, mineral and well balanced on the palate.
Pairs well with
Aperitif; cold antipasti, crudites and seasonal fruit.

- Vinification
- Whole bunches are soft-pressed with a pneumatic press, using only the first, free-run juice, then fined by flotation at low temperature and racked directly. Ferments in pressurised stainless steel tanks at 15 to 17°C for about 20 days, with carbonation towards the end of primary fermentation in closed tanks, giving the wine its natural spritz. Rests on the fine lees, with no malolactic fermentation, for at least three months in bottle before release.
