Dei Frisu
By Giovanni Abrigo, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
100% Barbera from the estate's best plots in Diano d'Alba and Roddi, aged 13 months in a large French oak barrel; made only in the finest vintages as the Superiore bottling.
Tasting notes
Intense purple red, with light hints of liquorice and red fruit on the nose, cherries and spirit-soaked black cherries on the palate. Good structure, vibrant acidity, freshness, balance and persistence.
Pairs well with
Cold cuts, pork dishes, veal cheek and aged cheese; also good with fatty fish.
