Red
Mötfrei
By Francesco Brigatti, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
Mötfrei, meaning 'hill of porcini mushrooms', is a single-variety Nebbiolo Colline Novaresi DOC aged 18 months in French oak tonneaux rather than the traditional large cask.
Tasting notes
Ruby red colour. Ripe red fruit with notes of vanilla, cocoa and liquorice. Full, structured palate with vigorous tannins and a long finish.
Pairs well with
Cured and salted meats, grilled meats, soft to medium-aged cheeses
