Red
L'Insieme
By Elio Altare, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
L'Insieme is a joint red blend founded in 1997 by seven Langhe producers based around La Morra, Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Tinella, each making about 1,000 to 2,000 of their own bottles a year (5,000 maximum) from local grapes blended with international varieties, with 5 euros per bottle produced going to the group's charitable projects.
Tasting notes
Intense red. Broad and round, with herbaceous, vegetal and spice notes. Full-bodied, with a decided, vigorous but harmonious character.
