Red
Boca
By Davide Carlone, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
A Nebbiolo-Vespolina blend under the historic Boca DOC, aged 34 months including at least 18 in Slavonian oak.
Tasting notes
Vivid, bright garnet. Elegant, fine nose with nuances of dark berries, ripe black plums, blood oranges, dried medicinal herbs, violets, roses and wilted irises, and sweet-to-dark spicy notes of cardamom and liquorice. Fresh, savoury palate, rightly taut with tannin that outlines its ageing potential, with a lingering finish; excellent young, but it will surprise after a few years in the bottle.
Pairs well with
Meat dishes, cold cuts and mature cheeses.
