Red
Farfuien
By Cerutti, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
The estate's top Barbera, aged a year each in steel and barrique from a Barbera vineyard over 40 years old with a raised Guyot training, named for the many butterflies (farfuien) that live among the vines.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red, with notes of violet, sour cherry and dried fruit; soft on the palate with balanced tannins and moderate acidity.
Pairs well with
Excellent with structured dishes such as pasta with rich meat sauces, or mains like roasts, red meat and game.
