Sparkling
La Badessa
By Cascina La Barbatella, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy
A classic-method sparkling wine from Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, first produced in 2011 and aged at least 36 months on the lees.
Tasting notes
A Metodo Classico from Pinot Nero and Chardonnay with acid strength and fatness, elegance and longevity, playing on freshness for a dry, well-defined style. The estate notes it is not the bubble you would expect from a land of red wines, though the area has long been suited to sparkling wine.
