Giorgio Carnevale

Giorgio Carnevale

Giorgio Carnevale is a family wine house in Cerro Tanaro, now run by oenologist Alessandro Carnevale. The story starts at Fubine Monferrato, where his great-grandfather Domenico founded the firm. In 1926 Delfino Carnevale moved to Cerro Tanaro and bought the estate of Baron Giuseppe Quaglia, on the border with Rocchetta Tanaro. Giorgio took over in 1953 after studying at the oenology institute in Alba, and Alessandro joined in 1986.

Bottles are sold as I Vini de la Rocchetta, made from fruit of long-standing growers the family advises in the vineyard: Barbera from Nizza Monferrato, Agliano and Mombercelli, Moscato from Canelli, Brachetto from Quaranti, plus Grignolino, Freisa, Dolcetto and Barolo. Cerro Tanaro sits in the Asti hills, in the area of the Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti appellations.
