Baldissero

Baldissero

Baldissero is a small family estate in Treiso, in the Barbaresco zone. In 1953 Guido Baldissero bought the vineyard opposite his house, just outside the village centre, and the labels are dedicated to him. For decades the grapes from the family's nearly 7 hectares went to other producers. His grandson Marco Lo Russo, who studied at the Alba oenology school and worked as a winemaker for other companies, now keeps the best grapes for his own label. The historic vineyard covers 3.52 hectares facing south-east, with Nebbiolo on the upper part and Barbera, Dolcetto and Syrah lower down. The range is six wines: two Barbaresco (the base wine and Ancò, from the upper rows), Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba Galé and a Syrah-based Langhe Rosso. Treiso is one of the four communes of the Barbaresco DOCG zone.
