Adriano Marco e Vittorio

Adriano Marco e Vittorio

Adriano Marco e Vittorio is a family estate in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a hamlet of Alba. The Sanadaive Barbaresco takes its name from the local dialect word for the place. The Adriano family farms vines there and in neighbouring Neive, on Sant'Agata marl and on the grey marl and sand of the Lequio formation, at 250 to 300 metres. The Barbaresco range comes from the 5.2 hectare Basarin vineyard in Neive, with a Riserva from one selected hectare made only in some vintages, and from the Rizzi and Rocche Massalupo crus. Alongside are Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Dolcetto, Freisa, Sauvignon Blanc, the aromatic white Ardì, the late-harvest Satifol and a Chinato. The family has avoided chemical weedkiller for almost ten years, holds The Green Experience certification and runs its cellar partly on solar power. Woodland on the estate is also a source of truffles and mushrooms. Neive and San Rocco Seno d'Elvio both belong to the Barbaresco zone.
