Vegia Rampana
By La Colombera, Colli Tortonesi, Piemonte, Italy
Vegia Rampana ("old witch" in dialect) is La Colombera's steel-aged Barbera, grown on dark clayey soils and built to age, reaching its best around eight years after harvest.
Tasting notes
Limpid ruby red with violet rim, an intense and complex wine with fragrances of marasca cherry, plums, cherries in alcohol and jam. Smooth and warm on the palate, favoured by a splendid freshness and a vigorous but refined tannin; a long-lived wine that gives its best about eight years after harvest.
