White
Gaia & Rey
By Gaja, Barbaresco, Piemonte, Italy
Named for Angelo Gaja's daughter Gaia and his grandmother Clotilde ("Rey"), this was one of the first barrique-aged Chardonnays made in Piedmont, planted controversially on prime Barbaresco land in the early 1980s.
Tasting notes
Rich and layered, with notes of ripe stone fruit, toasted hazelnut and vanilla, balanced by bright acidity and a long, creamy finish.
