Red
Ambrass
By Azienda Agricola Francesco Rosso, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
Ambrass, a Piedmontese word for embrace, is a Langhe Rosso DOC blending the estate's two main varieties, Barbera and Nebbiolo, each aged separately for two years in French oak before blending.
Tasting notes
Ruby red typical of Barbera, which dominates visually and on the nose with plum and cherry fruit. Nebbiolo's character prevails on the palate, dry and appropriately tannic, structured, enveloping and soft.
Pairs well with
Try it with elaborate meats, pasta with ragu or hearty sauces, and aged cheeses; also good on its own.
