Barbera d'Asti Superiore aged about 11 months in a mix of large Austrian oak casks and Allier tonneaux. About 22,000 bottles.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Intense nose with clear notes of fruit, vanilla, tar and spice. Dry and enveloping with the right tannic grip, balanced by fitting acidity. Long, persistent finish with notes of tobacco and dried fruit.

Vinification
Maceration on the skins for 13 to 15 days with frequent pump-overs. Alcoholic fermentation at 28 to 30 °C, malolactic by December. From January about 11 months partly in 3,000-litre Austrian oak casks and partly in 500-litre Allier oak tonneaux, blended in steel and bottled in May. 5 to 6 months in bottle. Ageing potential 5 to 8 years. 22,000 bottles.
