Vigneti Repetto
Vigneti Repetto is run by Gian Paolo Repetto and his wife Marina at Sarezzano, in the Colli Tortonesi of eastern Piedmont. Gian Paolo grew up in a farming family, built an engineering company and later came back to the land. The estate covers 26 hectares, 18 of them under vine between 240 and 340 metres on the calcareous clay marls of Sant'Agata Fossili, and it holds a national sustainability certification. The house motto is "Ancient method, modern technology": the Timorasso is made in a VinoOxygen vessel designed by a Piedmontese start-up, which allows winemaking without racking, less sulphur and far less washing water. The range is built around Timorasso under the Derthona name, from the light Piccolo Derthona to the long-aged Infinito, alongside Barbera, Croatina, Cortese, a rosato and an amber macerated white. Sarezzano lies in the province of Alessandria, close to the Lombardy border.
