Poderi Moretti

Poderi Moretti

Poderi Moretti is a family estate in Monteu Roero, formed by the union of the Moretti and Occhetti families, who have worked this land since the early 1600s. Francesco Moretti runs it today with his children Alessandra and Riccardo, looking after 40 hectares. The vines sit on several hills across the Langa and Roero, with the largest holdings in the San Michele cru at Santo Stefano Roero, Occhetti at Monteu Roero and Trinità at Govone. Only native varieties are grown: Nebbiolo, Arneis, Barbera and Dolcetto. The wines age on the fine lees in stainless steel or in oak barrels, and the family favours sustainable farming and natural products in vineyard and cellar. Winemaking happens in two farmhouses in the Occhetti hamlet: Cascina Occhetti holds the fermentation hall and barrel rooms, Cascina Moretti the tasting room and the riddling room for the traditional-method sparkling wines. The estate is listed in Italy's Register of Historic Companies.
