Cascina Lo Zoccolaio
Lo Zoccolaio is a farmhouse estate on the Bricco di Barolo, named after the hamlet and, the story goes, after a clog maker who once lived in the house. It farms 30 hectares of vines, 14 of them Nebbiolo for Barolo, facing south-west on the slope that climbs from Barolo castle towards Monforte. Further plots lie at Ornate in Monforte d'Alba, in Verduno, and at Ravera in Novello, source of the cru Barolo.
The range is Barolo, the Ravera Riserva aged in large Slavonian oak, Barbera d'Alba Superiore Suculé, the Langhe Rosso Baccanera, a Langhe Nebbiolo called Nubié, and the Re Noir line of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay. In the cellar the estate moved from barriques back towards larger casks. The brand belongs to the Villalanata group of Neive. Barolo sits in the Langhe hills, part of the Unesco-listed vineyard landscape of Langhe-Roero.

- Baccanera: Langhe Rosso DOC, Barbera, Merlot, Red. A blend of four grape varieties from the estate's vineyards, fermented separately and aged 18 months in French barrique.
- Barolo: Barolo DOCG, Nebbiolo 100%, Red. A Barolo from the estate's own vineyards in Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Verduno, aged 36 months in French barriques.
- Nubié: Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Nebbiolo, Red. A Langhe Nebbiolo made in stainless steel, aged about 6 months.
- Ravera Riserva: Barolo Riserva DOCG, Nebbiolo 100%, Red. The Ravera cru Barolo Riserva, from the estate's Ravera vineyard in Novello, aged 42 months in large Slavonian oak casks.
- Re Noir Chardonnay: Langhe DOC Chardonnay, Chardonnay 100%, White. A 100% Chardonnay fermented in French oak barriques and aged 9 months in second-passage barrels plus 12 months in bottle.
- Re Noir Pinot Nero: Piemonte DOC Pinot Nero, Pinot Nero 100%, Red. A 100% Pinot Nero aged about 18 months in oak barriques, hand-harvested in crates at low yields.
- Suculé: Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, Barbera 100%, Red. A Barbera d'Alba Superiore from the estate's vineyards in Barolo and Monforte d'Alba, aged 18 months in barrique.
