Red
Montegrilli
By Elvio Cogno, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Nebbiolo from the vineyard of the family's grandfather Eugenio, kept in stainless steel with no wood so that it stays fresh and immediate, in contrast to the estate's Barolo.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with a slight orange edge. Balanced floral, fruity and soft spicy aromas with a sapid finish of rose and violet. Soft, elegant and full-bodied, with freshly macerated red berries, raspberry and redcurrant.
Pairs well with
Robust roasts and hard, soft or well-aged cheeses; may also suit fresh fish and raw tuna tartare.
