Barbera d'Asti
By Emanuele Gambino, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
A 100% Barbera from the estate's Costigliole d'Asti vineyard, with 4 months in large French oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Clear, deep ruby red. Intense, complex nose of very ripe red fruit, cherries in alcohol, hay and fresh tobacco, sweet licorice, cocoa and balsamic juniper. Warm and soft on the palate with pronounced but balanced freshness, light tannins and a long finish.
Pairs well with
Cured meats, robiola di Roccaverano with mustard, agnolotti del plin with butter and sage, and gran bollito misto.
